Sinking In

I love the idea of an e-journal as I keep a daily journal and it helps me reflect on my teaching practices, life and overall me as a whole. Not to mention it can be a reminder of appointments and important dates that otherwise might get forgotten in our busy schedules.
I must say that the day flew by on Saturday and I really did not have time to reflect on the subject matter. The video at the end was mind boggling, and I am always amazed at what children can do when we support them. My passion is to work with children in any capacity but I do realize that I want to help all children so I knew that I need to get the experience that will allow me to follow my path.
I have a combined 3-4 class and although for the most part the students are at grade level and above, some are struggling to meet the outcomes. I have implemented peer support and adaptations to provide in class support because I know that if I wait for the program planning team to provide me with a solution the year will be ended. It is clear to see that well behaved, 'perfect' students if there is such a thing can find themselves lost with no immediate solution in place.
It was also interesting when I saw some of the scribing and could identify a couple students in my class that certainly had issues with penmanship. I know there are ways to support these students and now I know that with the proper education and experiences I will be able to work toward my goal of supporting youth.
There is a story about my blog name JOHHY Project but I will leave that for another journal entry.
